A CREATIVE DIALOGUE ACROSS GENERATIONS

This year, USA became the stage for a remarkable meeting of art, fashion, and vision. Hosted at B&B Italia’s flagship showroom in NY, the Dalí Beyond Time: Fashioning the Future exhibit brought together Kent State School of Fashion, Peg’s Foundation and Scabal for an evening that celebrated both heritage and innovation.

At the heart of the exhibition were a series of rarely seen paintings by Salvador Dalí, created exclusively for Scabal in 1971. Commissioned with a bold, forward-thinking brief—imagine how men would dress in the year 2000—these artworks embody Dalí’s surrealist genius, paired with Scabal’s long-standing spirit of creativity. For over five decades, they have remained a fascinating testament to how imagination can shape our vision of the future.

In an inspiring dialogue across time, the same brief was revisited by Kent State’s next-generation designers.

Their striking and emotional designs, displayed alongside Dalí’s originals,

offered fresh perspectives that speak directly to today’s cultural landscape.

The juxtaposition revealed how creativity transcends eras,

showing that the spark of innovation remains timeless when nurtured by passion and vision. The evening also featured a thought-provoking panel conversation with representatives from Scabal,

Kent State, Peg’s Foundation, and B&B Italia. The discussion explored the intersections of art,

fashion, education, design,

and mental health—highlighting how meaningful collaboration can preserve

heritage while opening space for new narratives.
